Abstract:
Provided is a sliding component with which the lubrication performance and the seal function of a sliding surface can be suitably maintained by suppressing stagnation of contaminants that mix into an introduction groove part so as to prevent the contaminants from advancing into a dynamic pressure generation groove part. In an annular sliding component 10 disposed at a location where a rotary machine relatively rotates, a plurality of dynamic pressure generation grooves 14 are arranged in parallel in the circumferential direction in a sliding surface 11 of the sliding component 10, each dynamic pressure generation groove being composed of an introduction groove part 15 that communicates with a sealed fluid F side through an opening section 15a, and a dynamic pressure generation groove part 9A that communicates with the introduction groove part 15 and that extends in the circumferential direction in which the sliding component 10 relatively rotates. A boundary wall 18 positioned in the introduction groove part 15 on the side of a boundary with the dynamic pressure generation groove part 9A has an inclined surface 18A where at least the opening section 15a side of the boundary wall 18 is inclined, relative to the radial direction, toward the dynamic pressure generation groove part 9A side and extends to the sealed fluid F side.
