Abstract:
According to the present invention, a sintered bearing 1 is formed by sintering a starting material powder that contains aluminum fluoride. This sintered bearing 1 has a structure obtained by sintering an aluminum-copper alloy, and contains from 3% by mass to 13% by mass of aluminum and from 0.05% by mass to 0.6% by mass of phosphorus, with the balance being mainly made up of copper, while containing unavoidable impurities. This sintered bearing 1 is produced by performing the sintering in a closed space 23, while controlling the concentration of the aluminum fluoride gas to be 5 ppm or more if assumed that all aluminum fluoride contained in the staring material powder is gasified in the closed space 23.
