Abstract:
The present side seal for a linear guide device which is provided with a guide rail, a slider, and rolling bodies comprises: seal members (1A, 1B) consisting of different materials; a retaining plate (2); and covers (3). The first surfaces (13) of the base sections (12) of both the seal members (1A, 1B) are provided with recesses (12a) into which the protrusions (21) of the retaining plate (2) are fitted. The lip sections (11a, 11b) of both the seal members (1A, 1B) are tilted in the opposite directions in which the lip sections (11a, 11b) separate from each other. The tip of the lip section (11a) of the first seal member (1A) is formed so as to be in surface contact with a surface of the guide rail. The tip of the lip section (11b) of the second seal member (1B) is formed so as to be in linear contact with the surface of the guide rail.
