Abstract:
This shock absorber has a cylinder, a piston, a piston rod, a partition member, and an attenuation force generation mechanism. The attenuation force generation mechanism has: a plurality of seats provided so as to protrude from an end surface of the partition member on a chamber side, which is the downstream side of a passage, said seats having large-diameter sections that surround the passage, have the same shape, and are provided at equal intervals in the circumferential direction and small-diameter sections that have a different diameter to the large-diameter sections and are provided at equal intervals in the circumferential direction; a valve that abuts the seats; and a plurality of impelling sections that are provided at equal intervals in the circumferential direction, impel the valve in the direction of the seats, and have the same shape as each other.
