Abstract:
A shock absorber D according to the present invention comprises: a cylinder 1; a rod guide 2 fitted in the inner periphery of an end portion of the cylinder 1; a piston rod 3 movably inserted in the cylinder 1; a piston 4 coupled to the piston rod 3; and a sealing member S which is stacked in the rod guide 2 and through which the piston rod 3 is inserted. The sealing member S includes: an annular seal case 7 having an annular recessed portion 7a in the inner periphery; a sealing ring 8 provided with a base portion 8a and a lip 8b and received in the annular recessed portion 7a; an annular seal holder 9 which is stacked on the rod guide side of the base portion 8a to be received in the annular recessed portion 7a and which supports the outer periphery of the sealing ring 8 to suppress expansion of the diameter of the lip 8b; and a stopper 10 attached in the seal case 7 to prevent the seal holder 9 and the sealing ring 8 from falling off.
