Abstract:
This shock absorber (SA) with a vehicle height-adjusting function comprises: a shock absorber body (D) having a cylinder (30), a piston (31) that is inserted into the cylinder (30) so as to be movable in the axial direction and divides the inside of the cylinder (30) into an extension-side chamber (R1) and a compression-side chamber (R2), a piston rod (32) that is inserted into the extension-side chamber (R1), is movable in the axial direction relative to the cylinder (30), and is connected to the piston (31), and an outer tube (33) that covers the cylinder (30); a pump (1); and a partitioning member (2) dividing an annular gap between the cylinder (30) and the outer tube (33) into a tank (T) that contains a fluid, and a reservoir chamber (R) that is in communication with the compression-side chamber (R2) and compensates for the volume of the piston rod (32) going in and out within the cylinder (30). The pump (1) is installed on the partitioning member (2), and the pump (1) allows the fluid to be supplied to and discharged from within the cylinder (30) via the reservoir chamber (R).
