Abstract:
A shift range control device (40) controls driving of a motor (10) in a shift range switching system (1) that is provided with the motor (10) and a shift range switching mechanism (20). A driving control unit (53) controls the driving of the motor (10) so as to fit an engaging member (26) in a recess (22) according to a shift range when the shift range is switched. A polarity determination unit (52) determines the polarity of a stator (11) that is opposed to a rotor (13). The driving control unit (53) moves the engaging member (26) to the recess (22) according to the shift range, and then executes cancel energization control so as to pass a cancel current that is a current for reducing the magnetic flux density of the stator (11) through a coil (12) according to the polarity of the stator (11).
