Abstract:
The present invention provides a new shaft manufacturing method with which it is possible to more efficiently manufacture a hollow shaft formed of a cylindrical member (pipe member) that has coupling members joined to both ends thereof. This method is for manufacturing a shaft formed of a cylindrical member 10 that has coupling members 11 provided to ends thereof, said method comprising: a preparation step for preparing a cylindrical member 10 that has male thread parts 5 formed at ends thereof; a screwing step for screwing together the male thread parts 5 and the coupling members 11 having female thread parts 6 to be screwed together with the male thread parts 5; and a diffusion welding step for performing diffusion welding between opposing end faces of the coupling members 11 and the cylindrical member 10 by heating the respective opposing end faces being pressed against each other through fastening by the coupling members 11 being screwed on.
