Abstract:
Provided are: a setter for baking a ceramic, the setter being capable of reducing heat capacity through weight reduction while maintaining strength and being excellent in temperature followability; and a method for producing the same. This setter is obtained by a production method involving: a sheet-forming step (S1-S3) for forming a structural body having, inside thereof, a porous layer S1 that contains ceramic fibers and has been made porous through sheet-forming; a shaping step S5 for shaping the structural body obtained in the sheet-forming step into a a predetermined shape; a coating step S6 for impregnating the structural body shaped into a predetermined shape in the shaping step S5 with an impregnation liquid to form, on the outer surface of the porous layer S1, a dense layer S2 denser than the porous layer S1; and a baking step S7 for baking the structured body having been subjected to the coating step S6 at a predetermined temperature.
