Title:
SENSOR-EQUIPPED WHEEL BEARING
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2011/148846
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is a sensor-equipped wheel bearing that has a compact structure, that is easy to assemble, and with which the load applied to the bearing section of a wheel can be detected accurately. The wheel bearing includes rolling elements (5) provided between a plurality of rows of rolling contact surfaces (3 and 4) which are provided respectively on an outer component (1) and an inner component (2) and which face one another. One of the outer component (1) and the inner component (2) is a fixing-side component, and the fixing-side component has, on the outer periphery thereof, a vehicle-body attachment flange (1a) which is to be attached to a knuckle. At least one load detection sensor unit (20) is provided on the outer surface of the fixing-side component. The sensor unit (20) is made up of: a distortion creation component (21) having at least two contact-fix sections that are placed in contact with and fixed to the fixing-side component; and at least one sensor that is attached to the distortion creation component (21) and that detects the distortion of the distortion creation component (21). A circuit-fixing stay (32) is provided on the side surface of the vehicle-body attachment flange (1a), and an arithmetic processing circuit (31) which arithmetically processes signals output from the sensor is attached to the stay (32).
