Title:
SENSIBLE WATER TAP
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2021/229589
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A sensible water tap, or Sen-Tap, features the self-cleaning of the handle of the tap achieved by positioning the handle within the flow of the water stream. The Sen-Tap consists of a fixed inlet connecting pipe, externally attached structure and a rotary handle. This external structure lies in the connection relation of inlet water pipe and the outlet water pipe, a rotary handle flushed by the outgoing water is fixed to the water outlet of the water pipe. By using Sensible tap one can prevent the contamination and disease spread through soiled handles, which happens while using normal taps due to non-cleaning of the handle after a hand wash. The self-cleaning handle water tap is quite applicable in all human dwellings.

Description:
SENSIBLE WATER TAP

DETAILED DESCRIPTION Technical field of the invention

The sensible water tap model relates to a kind of water tap, having the handle at the mouth of the tap from where water gushes out, which is purposed to self-clean it while being used.

Background of Invention

Hand Wash has become mandatory. Even if there is no corona, there are a lot of microorganisms like bacteria, fungi and viruses which cause many diseases. So hand wash is the recommended practice to avoid disease dissemination. In addition to that the dirt and the oily stickiness in the hand have to be thoroughly washed. Otherwise the hand keeps soiling every object in life.

The water tap being used world-wide to wash hands; it doesn’t serve the purpose called hand wash.

Considering the situation, a person wants to wash his hands first opens that tap with dirty hand and then apply soap and washes his hands. After cleansing his hands, he goes back and closes the tap, thereby increasing the likelihood of getting the viruses or microbes back onto his hand. This also will leave some microbes in the handle of the tap which will be carried by the next user. Even after washing, the handle remains infected or dirty and the purpose of hand wash is thwarted. Here the tap handle also needs to be washed when we wash our hands.

In public places our observation has proved this point beyond doubt. So the people who cannot clean the handle of the tap in public places will also fail to wash the handle of the tap at home too. So If the hand wash concept is not entwined in a person’s behavior, it is impossible to maintain cleanliness and to prevent infections spreading all over.

The existing provision to overcome this problem of contamination and disease spread through soiled handle after a hand wash is by using sensor fitted taps. Though the tap sensors are available for a few decades; it is not being utilized world-wide for several reasons. The major concern is the cost.

To circumvent this problem, here we provide a sensible scientific tap which offers solution to this problem. We have provided the handle of the tap at the bottom of the tap close to the mouth of the tap so that every time water gushes out of the tap, the handle thoroughly gets washed while the person is washing his hands. This prevents contamination of the handle of the tap during closing and opening, thereby preventing transmission of these microbes from one person to another through handling of the handle the tap.

Various work suggested the methods to avoid contamination by placing the inverted type of handle (CN107387833), structure of handle like duck tongue shaped (CN109899535A),and cleaning handle with water nozzles (CN2356196, CN101012900A). However, these utility models do not ensure the complete cleaning of the handle.

The present invention provides a solution to ensure the complete cleaning of the handle by providing a special design, an aerator and arrangement of the handle.

Summary of the invention

The conventional water tap has the handle at the upper portion of the tap.

In order to guarantee the self-cleaning of tap handle, this utility model has adopted a kind of new structure for water tap.

Here we have reversed it and provided the handle at the bottom of the tap. The inner parts of the tap can continue to be the same but we have provided different kind of flow opener which gets lifted when we rotate the handle. This allows water to gush out through the mouth of the tap which passes over the handle all around. After the usage when the tap is rotated back for closing the tap, the flow opener seals the water flow by coming back to the original position. There is a thread holder which holds the stem. In addition to this the aerator that is fitted at the mouth of the tap allows a frothy water flow which avoids splashing of water while using. When the tap is on, the water flows through this aerator also by which we can save water.

Detailed Description of the invention

The handle of the most conventional water tap is located above the water outlet. The handle of most of the conventional tap cannot be washed by water at any time when it is used, so it is often contaminated. Some of the prior art suggested that the handle position at the bottom to overcome the problem. Even though the handle placed at the bottom of water outlet does not overcome the problem of contamination. This problem still persists due to the handle structure. In order to solve this problem, the present invention consists of special handle structures that automatically flush the handle when the tap is turned on.

In order to explain the technical content, the structural features and the effects of the present invention in detail, the following description will be given in conjunction with the embodiments and with the accompanying drawings. Referring to Figure. 1, the present invention provides an easy-to-assemble water tap assembly including a rotary handle structure. The assembly contains rubber seal and O-ring. The structure is simple and practical, and the use is convenient and flexible.

The model achieves its purpose in the following manner: an aerator 3 is connected between the stem 2 and the rotary handle 1 , stem holder 3 is fixed and Thread 8 is placed between washer of the flow opener 5 and stem holder 3 and the aerator has a number of water holes.

1 - Handle, 2 - Stem, 3 - Stem holder ,4 - Flow opener, 5 - Washer of the flow opener, 6 - Pipe line, 7 - Aerator, 8 - Thread, 9 - Water stream, 10- Widened mouth of the tap

Referring to Figure 1, When the rotary handle 1 is turned on (clock wise), the valve stem 2 is pushed upwards, the flow opener 4 allows the water flow. Through the aerator 7, the water from the opener 4 flows out, washing the handle 1 completely and the water is splashed all around the rotary handle 1. Referring to Figure 2, when the handle 1 rotates in the anti-clockwise direction i.e the tap is closed, the movement direction of each part is opposite to the above, the threads move downwards to block the water outlet, and the water stops flowing. This thread wears very little, so the service life is long; if it needs to be replaced, just the aerator needs to be disassembled. Since the connection surfaces of the aerator 7 and flow opener 4 are far there is no possibility of water leakage at the connection, thus reducing the requirements for the processing of the connection surface, this rotary handle 1 structure ensures that it is completely cleaned and free from contamination. This is purposed to arrive a low cost and less leakage. The materials used are brass, stainless steel, PVC polypropylene and CPVC. The CPVC- chlorinated PVC is ideal for both cold and hot water. The inner parts will have mostly rubber washers, plastic and metallic components like nuts and bolts. The lower aspect of the mouth of the tap 6 is widened all around, the widened mouth of the tap 10, providing space for water to flow all around the body of the handle 1.The article of the present invention can be fitted in any water pipeline and can be used for the purpose of hand wash either hot or cold Citations
