| CLAIMS 1. Securing Harness for Clothes Drying Rack (1) for stabilization purposes, consisting of a harness (3) with integrated locking buckles (9) and (10), a length regulator (8) for the harness (3), magnetic buttons (6) and (7) to secure the harness at the idle position, and the retaining handle (5) affixed to the railing (4) or the wall (13). The harness (3) is wound on the retaining handle (5), at the same time clamping the frame (2) of the clothes drying rack (1) and is locked by the securing buckles (9) and (10) at the stable position. 2. Securing harness for clothes drying rack for the purpose of stabilization, where the length of the harness (3) is fixed and is not fitted with length regulator (8). The harness is secured with the securing buckles (9) and (10) at the stable position of the clothes drying rack (1) clamping the frame (2) of the clothes drying rack (1) with the retaining handle (5). 3. Securing harness for clothes drying rack for the purpose of stabilization, according to claim 2 where the harness (3) is flexible with fixed length and tensioning is performed when attached to the operating position. After securing with buckles (9) and (10), adjustment to the required length is effected thanks to the flexibility of the article, ensuring firm securing of the clothes drying rack. 4. Securing harness for clothes drying rack for the purpose of stabilization, according to claim 1 where the harness (3) is directly wound on the railing (4), without requiring the use of a retaining handle (5). |

Securing Harness for Clothes Drying Rack. The invention pertains to a Securing harness for a clothes drying rack intended for stable fastening; it comprises of a harness with securing buckles and retaining handle.
Clothes drying racks currently in use are located in balconies for the purpose of laundry hanging and drying. Clothes drying racks are lightweight foldable articles, comprising of a frame and collapsible feet which are attached on the former. On their top frame, clothes drying racks are fitted with ropes or metal rods that provide the support for hanging and, consequently, drying the laundry. Due to their low weight and the uneven distribution of the weight of hanged clothes, clothes drying racks are especially unstable and prone to tipping, even under light wind conditions. So far, users stabilize clothes drying racks by tying at the closest fixed surfaces, using ropes or wires.
To efficiently tackle the above mentioned issue, I pursued a method of clothes drying rack securing, which is both straightforward and easy to implement. I decided on the design and fabrication of a harness, suitable for effective use on all common clothes drying racks.
According to this invention, the clothes drying rack is stabilized with the proposed harness, on one or multiple points to provide more stable fastening on balcony railings or residence walls, by placing a handle. According to this invention, the harness slides through the handle permanently affixed to the railing or the wall; after being wound on the upper drying rack frame, it is locked with the buckle. The harness has been calculated so as to provide sufficient strength against forces developed by clothes drying racks.
A preferred execution example of this invention is described in the following, based on the attached figures, where:
Figure 1 illustrates the clothes drying rack in perspective view, attached to a balcony railing.
Figure 2 illustrates a blown-out side view of the harness, showing all parts assembled thereupon.
Figure 3 illustrates a blown-out top view of the harness, showing all parts assembled thereupon.
Figure 4 illustrates a side view of the harness in operating mode, secured on a railing.

Figure 1 illustrates the clothes drying rack (1) in perspective view, attached with the use of the harness (3), at two points, according to this invention. The harness (3) is routed through the handles (5) attached to the balcony railing (4), it clamps the frame (2) of the clothes drying rack (1), the latter fitted with strings or rods (14) for laundry hanging, and it is secured with the buckle (9) (10). This method of fastening ensures the stability of the clothes drying rack.
Figures (2) and (3) illustrate a side view of the harness (3) and in blown out top view, showing all the parts attached to it. The ends of the harness reveal the two parts of the buckle, i.e. male (9) and female (10), the length regulator (8) of the harness (3), magnetic buttons, female (7) and male (6).
Figures (4) and (5) display a side view of the harness (3), adapted at operational mode, having clamped the top frame (2) of the clothes drying rack (1) as well as the handle (5), also magnetic buttons (5) and (6) are engaged and secure the harness (3) when not in operational mode. Figure 4 illustrates the handle (5) attached to the railing (4) with bolts (11). Figure 5 illustrates the handle (5) attached to the wall (13) with wall fixing bolts (12).
Figure 6 shows a top view of the harness (3) in operating mode where the handle (5) is attached to the wall (13) with wall fixing bolts (12).
Figure 7 illustrates the clothes drying rack in perspective view, attached with the harness (3) to a balcony railing (4) directly without using the handle (5).
The harness can be made from synthetic or plastic material or leather or fiber. The attachment to the buckle part (9) as well as the length regulator
(8) can be performed by stitching or gluing or any other known bonding method, depending on the material to be used. Parts such as the buckle
(9) and (10) and the length regulator (8) can be metallic or plastic. This invention poses no restrictions to construction length or width or the color of the article.
