Abstract:
Provided is a seal ring which can be used as an inner circumference seal and an outer
circumference seal. The seal ring is arranged in an annular space between a shaft
and a housing. A cut section (7) is arranged at one area in the circumference direction
of the seal ring, and a space (60) is formed at the cut section (7) to allow circumference
length changes. The seal ring is provided with an outer circumference surface
(2), an inner circumference surface (3), both side surfaces (5) connecting the
circumference end of the outer circumference surface (2) and the circumference
end of the inner circumference surface (3). A cross section of the seal ring,
which is concentric with the shaft, and a cross section of the seal ring, which
is vertical to the shaft, are continuous in the circumference direction of the
seal ring, irrespective of the circumference length changes of the seal ring.
