Abstract:
Provided is a seal member that, without having to provide an excessive clearance gap for the seal, can reliably prevent the infiltration of dust etc. from outside a mobile member of a linear motion guide device by reliably bringing the seal into contact with a shaft member, and that has a high anti-dust sealing function that enables reliable sealing against fine dust etc.; also provided is a ball screw device or a linear motion guide device that uses the seal member. The seal member has a main body attached to a mobile member, and a lip part that comes into contact with the outer periphery of the shaft member. The lip part is provided with an inclined surface where the cross-sectional shape in the axial direction inclines in the direction of the shaft. The main body is provided with an impelling means for impelling the lip part in the radial direction of the shaft member, and a reinforcement part for reinforcing the main body on the inclined-surface side. With respect to the cross-sectional shape in the axial direction of the lip part, the impelling means is positioned more towards the reinforcement part side than the end of the lip part.
