Abstract:
In the present invention, at a frequency of at least once every three days, pressure-release water passing is carried out by increasing the degree-of-opening of a backpressure valve of a reverse osmosis membrane, and allowing supplied water to pass at no more than 1/3 of the steady permeability flux. The permeated-water flow rate, the concentrated-water flow rate, and the amount of concentrated water that is circulating are monitored, and the backpressure valve is closed to the state prior to carrying out pressure-release water passing so that the concentration rate does not become higher than that prior to carrying out pressure-release water passing.
