Title:
ROTATION STRUCTURE WITH JOURNAL BEARING AND METHOD OF ASSEMBLING SAME
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2010/055849
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Gaps between a journal and tilting pads which are provided on the upper side of the journal and to which the dead weight of the journal is not applied are adapted to be adjustable, and this allows high-pressure oil film of lubricating oil to be easily formed on the entire circumference of the journal and eliminates carry over of the lubricating oil in a journal bearing. A rotation structure is provided with a journal bearing (10) having pads (40) which are rockably arranged in an annular bearing housing (30) and support a journal (j) in a self-aligning manner, and the rotation structure is configured in such a manner that lubricating oil is supplied between the journal (j) and the pads.  A spring members (80) is provided at a position which is located at a downstream portion of an upper pad relative to the rotational direction of the journal and is between the inner surface of the bearing housing and the rear surface of the upper pad, and the spring member (80) is adapted to apply elastic force to the downstream portion of the upper pad so as to press the downstream portion to the journal side.  The spring forms, between the upper pad and the journal, a gap narrowing toward the downstream side in the rotational direction of the journal.  The rotation structure is provided with first oil supply nozzles (50) for supplying the lubricating oil to the bearing surfaces (48) of the pads (40), and also with second oil supply nozzles (50) for preventing the lubricating oil having passed through the bearing surfaces from being carried over.  A housing surface (52a) of each first oil supply nozzle (50) is made to at least support in a linearly contacting manner the front surface (46) of a pad, said front surface (46) facing the housing surface, while a housing surface of each second oil supply nozzle (50) is made to at least support in a linearly contacting manner the rear surface of the pad, said rear surface facing the housing surface, and this causes the positions of the pads (40) in the rotational direction of the journal to be fixed and supported.
