Abstract:
[PROBLEMS] A rotary valve manufactured by installing a lock mechanism in a ready-made
rotary valve, where the degree of opening of the valve is fixed only by addition
of the lock mechanism, preventing erroneous operation to reduce accidents caused
by such operation, and a rotary valve manufactured by replacing only a handle
of an existing rotary valve to change the valve into one having the lock mechanism.
[MEANS FOR SOLVING THE PROBLEMS] In the rotary valve, a stem (9) is connected
to a handle (1) for opening and closing the valve, and rotation of the stem (9) rotates
a valve element engaged with the stem (9). The rotary valve has a top flange (5)
installed at a neck part of a valve body (10) supporting the stem (9). A cutout
(7) is formed in the peripheral edge of the top flange (5). A lock body (2) having
a projection (12) engageable with the cutout (7) of the top flange (5) by a torsion
spring (4) is supported at the center part or holding part of the handle (1).
