Title:
ROTARY POWER TRANSMITTING METHOD, AND DEVICE THEREFOR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1994/021942
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention provides a rotary power transmitting device, in which an automatic valve is provided for automatically adjusting the oil flow based on the principle of the gear pump, by utilizing the oil pressure, and absorbing the impacts, and in which oil is filled in the interior, so that the performance should be superior, and that the manufacturing cost should be low compared with the conventional device. The conventional rotary power transmitting devices are complex in the constitution. Further, the transmitting ratio is less than 90 %, with the result that the energy loss is large. The present invention is intended to overcome the above described disadvantages of the conventional technique. Thus the present invention incorporates an automatic valve for automatically adjusting the oil flow, while oil is filled in the interior. Thus device has small bulk and is simple, so that the disorder rate is low, the repair is easy, the energy consumption is saved, and other advantages are accompanied.

Claims:
What is claimed is:
1. A rotary power transmitting method, characterized in that: rotary power is transmitted from one axis to another at the same revolution speed to rotate a body 3 by causing the revolution of a central gear 1 to revolve a peripheral gear 2 based on the principle of a gear pump and by utilizing the oil pressure, and absorbing impacts.
2. The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein an input shaft is connected to said body 3, and an output shaft is connected to said central gear 1, whereby the rotary power is transmitted in the reverse form.
3. The method as claimed in any one of claims 1 and 2, wherein various valves are combined, whereby the oil flow is automatically adjusted.
4. The method as claimed in any one of claims 1 and 2, wherein a plurality of said peripheral gears 2 are provided.
5. A rotary power transmitting device based on claims 1, 2, 3 and 4.
Description:
ROTARY POWER TRANSMITTING METHOD, AND DEVICE THEREFOR

Field of the invention

The present invention relates to a rotary power transmitting method and a device therefor, in which the rotary power is transmitted with the same revolution speed on the principle of the gear pump and by utilizing the oil pressure, and absorbing impacts.

Background of the invention As the conventional rotary power transmitting devices, there may be cited automobile clutches, torque converters and the like. In the automobile torque converter, the pump impeller is secured by means of bolts or rivets, and a turbine revolves in the inside in the coaxial manner. A stator is combined in the central portion of the turbine, and a converter coil is filled within the interior.

Therefore, the conventional rotary power transmitting devices are complex in the constitution. Further, the bulk is large, and therefore, it is inconvenient for handling. Further, the transmitting ratio is less than 90%, with the result that the energy loss is large.

Summary of the invention

The present invention is intended to overcome the above described disadvantages of the conventional technique.

Therefore it is the object of the present invention to provide a rotary power transmitting device, in which an automatic valve is provided for automatically adjusting the oil flow based on the

principle of the gear pump and by utilizing the oil pressure, and oil is filled in the interior, so that the performance should be superior, and that the manufacturing cost should be low compared with the conventional device.

Brief description of the drawings

The above object and other advantages of the present invention will become more apparent by describing in detail the preferred embodiment of the present invention with reference to the attached drawings in which: Figure 1 is a plan view showing the device without valve;

Figure 2 is a plan view showing the assembly having a valve;

Figure 3 is a side view of the device of Figure 2; and

Figure 4 is a detail view of the valve of Figure 2.

Description of the preferred embodiment

When an input side central gear 1 is rotated slowly, a peripheral gear 2 which is disposed around the central gear 1 revolves. Owing to the revolutions of the central gear 1 and the peripheral gear 2, there is generated an oil pressure. Under this condition, a valve 6 is open owing to the tension of a spring 8 as shown in Figure 4, and therefore, an oil 5 flows toward an oil 4 in a natural manner. Therefore, if a body 3 is stationary, the peripheral gear 2 will be rotated on its own axis. When the revolution of the central gear 1 is accelerated, the oil pressure is increased, with the result that the body 3 is rotated. Therefore, the peripheral gear 2 performs orbital and rotational motions simultaneously.

Under this condition, if the central gear 1 is further accelerated, then the revolution of the body 3 is also accelerated. Owing to the centrifugal force of the revolving body 3, a piston 7 of the valve 6 pushes the spring 8 to block the flow of the oil, with the result that the rotation of the peripheral gear 2 is stopped, and only the orbital is continued. As a result, the rotary power is transmitted to the body 3 by 100%.

According to the present invention as described above, the device has small bulk and is simple, so that the disorder rate is low, the repair is easy, the energy consumption is saved, and other advantages are accompanied.
