Abstract:
This rotary encoder (10) comprises a gear accommodating box body (110) comprising: a main shaft gear (40); sub shaft gears (61, 81) mating with the main shaft gear (40); a main shaft magnet (29) held in a main shaft (20); sub shaft magnets (181, 191) held in the sub shaft gears (61, 81); a main shaft sensor (151); and sub shaft sensors (161, 162), wherein the gear accommodating box body encloses the surroundings of the main shaft gear (40) and the sub shaft gears (61, 81) and accommodates the main shaft gear (40) and the sub shaft gears (61, 81). Greases (Gr1, Gr2, Gr3) are filled in the gear accommodating box body (110). The gear accommodating box body (110) has grease storage sections (146, 147, 148) formed between the tooth valleys of the main shaft gear (40) and the sub shaft gears (61, 81) and the gear accommodating box body (110).
