Abstract:
Provided is a rolling bearing capable of reducing a load imposed on a cage from rolling elements at high speed rotation and maintaining lubricity. The rolling bearing comprises an outer ring (2) having an outer ring raceway surface (2a) on an inner periphery thereof, an inner ring (3) having an inner ring raceway surface (3a) on an outer periphery thereof, a plurality of balls (4) interposed between the outer ring raceway surface (2a) and the inner ring raceway surface (3a), and a cage (5) having a plurality of pocket portions (8) for holding the balls (4). The cage (5) is formed from: an annular base portion (6); and a plurality of pairs of claw portions (7) which are positioned at a fixed interval on axial-direction end surface of the base portion (6) in the circumferential direction and which extend in the axial direction. The plurality of pocket portions (8) each have a first spherical surface (8a) to a fourth spherical surface (8d) that differ in at least one from among a position Ca of the center of curvature and a radius Da of curvature, and each hold the ball (4) by the plurality of spherical surfaces. Spacings between a plurality of first contact points (P1) and second contact points (P2) at which the plurality of spherical surfaces and the ball (4) contact each other are each 20 percent or more and below 40 percent of the diameter of the ball (4).
