Abstract:
This rolling bearing is provided with: an outer ring and an inner ring; rolling elements arranged between the outer ring and the inner ring so as to be capable of rolling; a retainer for holding the rolling elements; and a shield. The outer ring is provided with: a raceway surface for rollably supporting the rolling elements; recessed sections formed on both sides of the raceway surface in the axial direction; and ridge sections formed between the recessed sections and the raceway surface. The recessed section is provided with: a placing surface on which grease is placed; and a first inclined section that is formed between the placing surface and the ridge section and that approaches the outer circumferential surface of the outer ring towards the outside in the axial direction.
