Abstract:
The present invention is a roller bearing malfunction detection device provided with: a filter (F) for allowing passage of lubricating oil from inside the bearing space between an inner ring (2) and an outer ring (1) to outside the bearing space and preventing passage of metal pieces; a pair of permanent magnets (51a, 51b) provided in the filter (F) and disposed at a distance from each other; an electrical circuit (60) having each of the pair of permanent magnets (51a, 51b) as an electrode and respective wiring extending from the two electrodes and reaching a power source; and an output detection unit (71) for detecting the state of metal pieces contained in the lubricating oil by detecting changes in the electrical output of the electrical circuit (60) that result from adhesion of metal pieces between the pair of permanent magnets (51a, 51b).
