Abstract:
Disclosed is a robot. The robot comprises: at least one sensor for detecting an external environment within a viewing area; at least one memory storing information about a traveling space including a privacy protection area; and one or more processors which discern whether the viewing area of the at least one sensor comes within a preset distance of the privacy protection area while the robot travels a traveling path within the traveling space, determines whether the viewing area of the sensor will overlap the privacy protection area on the basis of the traveling path of the robot when it is discerned that the viewing area comes within the preset distance, and changes the heading of the robot from a first heading to a second heading so that the viewing area of the sensor does not overlap with the privacy protection area when it is determined that the viewing area of the sensor will overlap with the privacy protection area.
