Abstract:
Provided is a ring-shaped dust seal for which, while an outstanding dust seal function being realized, local wear, flattening (deformation), and stick slip (noise, vibration) have been improved. The ring-shaped dust seal is made of an elastic material, is supported by a housing, includes a circular ring-shaped dust lip (4), and has the surface of the dust lip (4) make contact with the outer peripheral surface of a reciprocal movement shaft that is disposed within the housing with the tip side thereof protruding toward the atmosphere side, wherein, in a vertical cross-section of the dust lip (4), the average radius of curvature of a surface (4b) that is more convex on the inner side of the housing from a peak section of the dust lip (4) is greater than the average radius of curvature of a surface (4a) that is more convex on the atmosphere side from the peak section of the dust lip (4).
