Description:
Ring Joint for PVC plastic pipes

Description

Background:

The invention relates to a joint for plastic pipes used to prevent liquid leakage and adding new branches in the fixed pvc plastic pipes.

This joint is composed of 3 rings (1 , 2, 3) (figure 3). The two smaller rings (1, 2) are the male rings, and the larger ring (3) is the female ring and its length equaling the total lengths of both smaller rings.

The mentioned joint is characterized with tightly engagement of the surfaces after gluing it, also it is characterized with the integrating of the smaller rings into the larger ring.

This joint may be used in the maintenance processes for the fixed pipes to prevent leakage or to add the branches without moving the pipe of its straightening axis, that is because moving the pipe of its straightening axis is required digging and cracking processes according to the nature of pipe place which may harm individuals and corporations by increasing the financial costs required for the maintenance processes in this field.

Moreover, the mentioned joint may be used in the drainage pipes by adding the American manhalls at any sight on the extension of the drainage pipe (figure 7) by make an adjustable joint composed of two ring joints (1 ,2) and two pieces from the same pipe (3,4) and a y shaped divider (5).

Also, this joint helps in shear processes for exploring the blocking of the drainage pipe, this is to ease return the pipe to its previous place by this joint. It is known that when using known joints for maintenance or adding the branches into the fixed pipes, the technicians facing many problems which makes the maintenance or adding the branches into the fixed pipes requires much costs and efforts since the installment of some known joints may require raising the pipe of its straightening axis which requires performing digging and cracking processes to finish the installation as shown in figure (10) and sometimes requires tensile process in two opposing directions which exposes the glue to duplicated tensile forces which leads to unglue or to reduce its shelf life which requires continuous maintenance process as shown in figure (8).

Accordingly, there is ideas to improve these described joints by performing a suitable modify on some accessories which leads to good results and after studding some accessories the reducer and the plug.

The reducer is defined as: one of the pipe accessories its use enables to change the stream of the liquids from one diameter to another by increasing or decreasing.

the plug is defined as: one of the pipe accessories fixed at the end of any branch to prevent water leakage.

The reducer is modified by shearing it Athwart into two cylinder rings (1,2) as in figure (1 ). And the plug was modified by opening its closed part with a diameter equals the targeted pipe diameter as in figure (2).

Accordingly, these two productions can be integrated after modifying (figures l and 2) to get a production can be entered in an adjustable joint used in the maintenance to prevent leakage or adding the branches into the fixed pipes without moving the pipe of its straightening axis as in figures (3) and (4).

Thus, it is possible to overcome the problems technicians facing when using similar joints as shown in figures (8), (9), and (10),

The defects of these similar joints are:

1 - The joint in figure (8):

Using this similar joint in maintenance processes for fixed pipes requires to enter this joint into an adjustable joint figure (8b), the connecting process needs tensile in two opposing directions which causes glue falling under duplicated tensile forces which may leads to unglue or to reduce the glue shelf life which requires to repeat maintenance process continuously.

2- The joint in figure (10):

Using this joint in maintenance processes for fixed pipes requires raising the pipe of its straightening axis which requires more digging and cracking processes and more harms to personal and public properties and more financial costs on individuals and corporations.

3- The joint in figure (9):

If this joint is cracked during using it in maintenance processes for fixed pipes, the length of this crack should not be longer than the length of this joint.

This invented ring joint is distinguished with the following comparing with other similar joints: 1- Doesn't require tensile processes during its installation, however, the glue is easily and simply used.

2- Its installation doesn't require raisin the targeted pipe or moving it of its straightening axis.

3- It can be used whatever the length of the crack since it can be entered into a multiple measurements adjustable joint as shown in figure (5),

General description of the invention:
