Abstract:
A cage (9) for holding rollers (8) between an input-side outer ring (2) and the output shaft (4), balls (10) that are sandwiched between the outer ring (2) and a pressing lid (6) when engaged with the cage (9), and a coil spring (11), which presses the balls (10) via the outer ring (2) against the pressing lid (6) when one end of the coil spring slides with the outer ring (2) and the other end of the coil spring is fixed to the cover (5c) of the housing (5), are incorporated in the reverse input cutoff clutch. As a result, the reverse input cutoff clutch is configured so that: when an input torque is applied, the rollers (8) reliably engage with the outer ring (2) and the output shaft (4) and it is possible to begin transmission of rotation smoothly; and when supply of input torque stops, as a result of elastic restoration of the coil spring (11) that was twisted in the circumferential direction during transmission of rotation, the outer ring (2) rotates in the direction opposite to input torque, the engagement of the rollers (8) is released, and the output shaft (4) reliably rotates freely with respect to reverse input torque.
