Abstract:
Provided is a novel reverse input blocking clutch having a different operating principle to a conventional reverse input blocking clutch. A reverse input blocking clutch (1) is provided with: an input member (2); an output member (3) having a centerline C that is common with the input member (2); a pressed member (5); and a rocking member (6) which is capable of rocking about a centerline perpendicular to the centerline C. When torque is input to the input member (2), the rocking member (6) rocks in one direction, and the torque input to the input member (2) is transmitted to the output member (3). When torque is reverse-input to the output member (3), the rocking member (6) rocks in the opposite direction, the rocking member (6) comes into contact with the pressed member (5), and at least a portion of the torque that has been reverse-input to the output member (3) is blocked.
