The present application is appliable to the technical field of terminal devices, and provides a reset method and an electronic device. The electronic device comprises a master component and slave components. The master component is used for sending clock signals to the slave components. Data exchange is carried out between the master component and the slave components on the basis of the clock signals. A slave component sends early warning information to the master component, and the master component performs a reset operation on itself when receiving the early warning information, wherein the early warning information is used for indicating that the master component is in an abnormal state. In this way, the problem of hanging of the master component can be solved by performing a reset operation on the master component. Compared with a traditional method which can only solve the problem of hanging of slave components, the present application can solve the problem of hanging of the master component when the number of electronic components in an electronic device is increased or the sizes of the electronic components are reduced, thereby effectively recovering data exchange between the electronic components.
