Abstract:
The present invention provides a repellent comprising a substance that has no insecticidal effect but has a repellent effect on harmful organisms, and a method and a device for manufacturing hypochlorous acid. This repellent comprises a hypochlorous acid aqueous solution. This method and this device for manufacturing a hypochlorous acid aqueous solution, involve: purifying water by removing therefrom cations without removing anions (ST1); and producing a hypochlorous acid aqueous solution either by mixing the purified water with an inorganic acid and a hypochlorite or by applying electrolysis to an aqueous solution comprising the purified water and chloride ions (ST2).
