Abstract:

Remedies for brain infarction which contain as the active ingredient a compound having mGluR1 antagonism; medicinal compositions which are remedies for brain infarction at the acute stage; medicinal compositions which contain as the active ingredient a compound having selective mGluR1 antagonism; and medicinal compositions wherein the compound having selective mGluR1 antagonism is 6-amino-N-cyclohexyl-N,3-dimethylthiazolo[3,2-a]benzimidazole-2-carboxamide dihydrochloride. Means for Solution: Since a compound having mGluR1 antagonism shows an effect of reducing infarction volume in a rat brain infarction model, it is found out that mGluR1 antagonists are useful in preventing and treating brain infarction.
