Abstract:
Provided are a reinforcing support member and a supporter using the same that smoothly follow bending and stretching of a joint of a wearer, thus making it possible to support the joint of the wearer at the time of both stretching and bending. A reinforcing support member 100 is configured to include: a support portion 1 consisting of three bone bodies 14, 15, 16 formed by fusion-solidifying three pieces of long voluminous cloth 11, 12, 13 through heating, the pieces of voluminous cloth 11, 12, 13 each being formed by knitting an outer fabric 1A and a lining fabric 1B with first ground yarn 10 containing thermal-adhesive plastic fibers and by bonding the outer fabric 1A and the lining fabric 1B by the first ground yarn 10 or second ground yarn 10a; and connecting portions 2 in which third ground yarn 20 that is made from non-hardened fibers stabilized through fusion of the thermal-adhesive plastic fibers of the first ground yarn 10 and that has elasticity is bonded to stitches on adjacent edges between the pieces of voluminous cloth 11, 12, 13.
