Abstract:
Provided is a reforming furnace with which a combustion amount of a burner can be sufficiently reduced while maintaining a catalyst inside a reforming reaction tube at an appropriate reaction temperature, and in which a steam-generating heat exchanger and a furnace body can be arranged in a compact manner. A burner B that combusts downward is provided at a central location of a ceiling wall 2U of a furnace body H in which a side wall 2S is disposed between the ceiling wall 2U and a bottom wall 2D. A reforming reaction tube 1 that performs a steam reforming treatment on a raw material gas is provided around the burner B. A discharge part 2E that discharges combustion gas of the burner is opened at a location on an upper side of the side wall 2S. A cylindrical outer wall 2G is provided at a location on the outer side of the side wall 2S. A steam-generating heat exchanger J that generates steam or a mixed gas of the raw material gas and steam is disposed in an external space F between the side wall 2S and the outer wall 2G. An external discharge opening 2Z that discharges the combustion gas flowing through the external space F is provided at a location on the lower side of the outer wall 2G.
