Abstract:
A reforming catalyst composition that in the steam reforming of hydrocarbons corresponsive to naphtha and kerosene, is capable of producing high-concentration hydrogen at low S/C, and that can retain activity for a prolonged period of time. There is provided a reforming catalyst composition as a catalyst for producing a hydrogen-containing gas through reaction of a hydrocarbon corresponsive to naphtha or kerosene with steam, which reforming catalyst composition comprises nickel oxide and lanthanum oxide and in part or entirety has the perovskite structure. The composition having the perovskite structure can be superimposed on an oxide, such as alumina, silica or zirconia, to thereby obtain a support, or alternatively nickel or lanthanum can be borne by the composition having the perovskite structure as a support.
