Abstract:
A refinement method for a polyethylene glycol compound indicated by formula [1], characterized having a step (A) and a step (B). Step (A): A step in which a solution is obtained by dissolving a compound indicated by formula [1] in an organic solvent having a Hildebrand solubility parameter of 8–10 (cal/cm3)1/2. Step (B): A step in which a slurry is prepared by mixing, into the solution, 0.1–1 parts by mass of an adsorbent comprising a hydrotalcite having a specific surface area of 50–200 m2/g, relative to 1 part by mass of the compound indicated by formula [1]. (In formula [1]: Z indicates a residue obtained by removing an active hydrogen group from a compound having 2-5 active hydrogen groups; A indicates an amino group; Y1 and Y2 each independently indicate an ether bond, an amide bond, an ester bond, a urethane bond, a carbonate bond, a secondary amino group, a thioether bond, a disulfide bond, a thioester bond, or an alkylene group including these; "Polymer" indicates a polyethylene glycol chain; X indicates a C1–7 hydrocarbon group, a C3–9 acetal group, a hydroxy group, a hydroxy group protecting group, a carboxyl group, a carboxyl group protecting group, a thiol group, a thiol group protecting group, a cyano group, or an alkylene group including these; l = 1 or 0; m = 1 or 0; and a and b are integers that fulfill 0≤a≤4, 0≤b≤4, and 1≤a+b≤4.)
