Abstract:
Provided are a recording medium that is low-cost and recyclable and that allows excellent printing thereon particularly with an ink-jet method, and a method and an apparatus for manufacturing the recording medium. A recording medium 100 includes: a base material 110; an ink infiltration prevention layer 130 that is formed on the base material 110 and prevents infiltration of an ink through the base material 110; and an ink reception layer 140 that holds the ink and that is formed on the ink infiltration prevention layer 130, wherein the ink infiltration prevention layer 130 and the ink reception layer 140 are formed from an identical material that includes a thermoplastic resin and cellulose fibers.
