Abstract:
A pump unit (1) comprises: a plurality of hydraulic pumps (12a, 12b) which are positive-displacement rotary pumps and each of which discharges a fixed-volume hydraulic fluid; a main oil passage (13) in which the hydraulic fluids discharged by the plurality of hydraulic pumps (12a, 12b) are merged; a plurality of switching sections (20a, 20b) which are provided in correspondence to the plurality of hydraulic pumps (12a, 12b), respectively, and each of which brings the corresponding one of the hydraulic pumps (12a, 12b) into an on-load state for load operation or a no-load state for no-load operation and when the corresponding hydraulic pump is in the on-load state and a pressure higher than or equal to a preset relief pressure is applied, returns a part of the hydraulic fluid discharged by the corresponding one of the hydraulic pumps (12a, 12b) to a tank (10); and a control unit (19) which controls the switching sections (20a, 20b) on the basis of the detected value of the pressure in the main oil passage (13), to thereby maintain the pressure in the main oil passage (13) at a target pressure.
