Abstract:
The present invention appropriately creates a new profile in cases such as when a new medium is used. Provided is a profile creation method for creating a device profile used in a process for generating print data that shows an image printed by a printing device 12. The profile creation method comprises a search step for performing a search based on a search condition from among existing profiles that are composed of existing device profiles, and a profile creation step for creating a new device profile on the basis of an existing profile that is selected on the basis of the research result in the search step. The printing device 12 performs color printing using inks of a plurality of colors, and uses, as a search condition in the search step, an oozing ink quantity that indicates an ink quantity with which oozing of inks occurs on a medium.
