Abstract:
Provided is a production method for a water absorbing material that can improve a clumping function. The production method produces a water absorbing material 1 comprising a plurality of granular bodies 10. The method includes a preparation step S31, a grinding step S33, a core part forming step S36, and a coating part forming step S37. The preparation step S31 is a step for preparing a paper powder 32 having adhered thereto a water-absorbing polymer which is derived from a sanitary product. The grinding step S33 is a step for grinding residual polymer 34 with a grinder. The core part forming step S36 is a step for forming each of core parts 20 constituting each of the granular bodies 10. The coat part forming step S37 is a step for forming, in such a manner as to cover each of the core parts 20, a coat part 30 containing the paper powder 32 and the residual polymer 34 that was ground in the grinding step S33. In the grinding step S33, the residual polymer 34 is ground while still adhered to the paper powder 32.
