Abstract:
Provided is a double-pipe-structure pressure contact roll having an outer tube member made from at least a carbon-fiber-reinforced resin, wherein the pressure contact roll is configured so that a metal plating layer is uniformly and firmly bonded to the surface of the outer tube member, the pressure contact roll having excellent workability such as surface smoothness and matting, making it possible in particular to suppress rotational vibration to a low value, and having high abrasion resistance. A double-pipe-structure pressure contact roll having a cylindrical outer tube member 2 made from a carbon-fiber-reinforced resin, and an inner tube member 3 disposed coaxially with the outer tube member on the inner side of the outer tube member, the outer tube member 2 is integrally coupled with a joining part 3A formed on the axial-direction center part of the inner tube member, the inner tube member having a rotating shaft member 4 that is coaxially and integrally secured to the inner tube member at both axial-direction end parts thereof, and a metal plating layer 6 being formed on the outer peripheral surface of the outer tube member, wherein outer-tube-side end surface members 5 made from metal are integrally attached to each of the two axial-direction end parts of the outer tube member, the outer-tube-side end surface members being for attaching plating electrodes during formation of the metal plating layer.
