Abstract:
Provided is a pressing device that is able to carry out deaeration efficiently. A hydraulic tensioner 31 is provided with: a housing 41 in which a cylinder chamber 40 is formed inside a housing cylinder section 41c as a cylinder; a plunger 46 slidably inserted into the cylinder chamber 40; and an oil supply passage 60 that introduces oil to a pressure chamber 50 demarcated by the cylinder chamber 40 and the plunger 46 inside the housing 41. A check valve 43 for preventing backflow of oil in the pressure chamber 50 is provided in a seat-internal oil passage 42a serving as a connecting part between the oil supply passage 60 and the pressure chamber 50. A chain tensioner guide 28 serving as a counterpart member is pressed by the plunger 46. An oil tank part 21f is provided upstream from the seat-internal oil passage 42a, and the oil tank part 21f communicates with a notch part 51a from which air can be removed from the oil.
