Abstract:
A press roll for a paper machine, comprising a core roll and a ceramics thermally sprayed film formed on the outer peripheral surface of the core roll. The ceramics thermally sprayed film is characterized in that the values of Rk and Vo which are the characteristic evaluation parameters for the surface of a plateau structure come within the following range. Rk ≤ 8.0 µm Vo ≥ 0.030 mm3/cm2 (where Vo = (100 - Mr2) x Rvk/2000 (mm3/cm2) Where Rk, Mr2, and Rvk are the level difference Rk of the core part, the load length ratio Mr2 of the core part, and the projected valley part depth Rvk of the core part specified in JIS B0671-2-2002 (ISO13565-2-1996), respectively.
