Abstract:
This preliminary charging circuit preliminarily charges a smoothing capacitor connected to the DC output side of a converter that coverts inputted AC power into DC power and outputs the DC power. The preliminary charging circuit comprises: a switch unit that includes a switching element which electrically connects a three-phase AC power supply with the AC input side of the converter during an on time, and which electrically disconnects the three-phase AC power supply and the AC input side of the converter during an off time; a power supply voltage detection circuit that detects the AC voltage of the three-phase AC power supply; and a control unit that controls on/off of the switching element of the switch unit on the basis of information pertaining to the AC voltage detected by the power supply voltage detection circuit.
