Abstract:
Provided are: a power transmission switching mechanism that makes it possible to achieve a reduction in the size and weight of a device using a simple configuration in which the number of components is kept to a minimum; and a transmission that is provided with the power transmission switching mechanism. The power transmission switching mechanism is provided with: a sleeve (305) that moves in the axial direction of a rotating shaft (14); a hub section (301) that is integrally provided with a gear (29) and that holds the sleeve (305) so as to be freely slidable in the axial direction and incapable of rotation; and a dog spline (310) that engages with the sleeve (305) and that is provided to a pulley piston that is fixed to the rotating shaft (14). The power transmission switching mechanism is configured so that, in a state in which the sleeve (305) is held by the hub section (301), the engagement of the rotating shaft (14) and the gear (29) is released and rotation of the rotating shaft (14) and the gear (29) relative to one another is enabled, and when the sleeve (305) moves in the axial direction from the hub section (301) and engages with the dog spline (310), the rotating shaft (14) and the gear (29) engage and rotate together.
