Abstract:
The present invention comprises: a friction engagement device 40 which is connected by pressing a friction plate 65 and a separation plate 66 against each other and which is disconnected by releasing the force pressing these plates against each other; a rotation transmission state switching device 41 having at least a free mode in which the rotation of a first member 71 with respect to a second member 72 is allowed irrespective of the relative rotation direction of the first member 71 and the second member 72 and a lock mode in which the rotation of the first member 71 with respect to the second member 72 is inhibited; and a control device having a function for switching the rotation transmission state switching device 41 to the lock mode while maintaining the friction engagement device 40 in a connected state and a function for switching to a state in which the friction engagement device 40 is disconnected and the rotation transmission state switching device 41 is in the free mode.
