A power transmission device K comprises: a clutch member 4 that holds a plurality of driven-side clutch plates 7; a pressure member 5 capable of pressing a drive-side clutch plate 6 and the driven-side clutch plates 7 together with the clutch member 4; a centrifugal clutch means 9 that applies a first press-contact force to the drive-side clutch plate 6 and the driven-side clutch plates 7 along with movement of a weight member 10 from a radially inner side position to a radially outer side position, and that, when the weight member 10 is at the radially outer side position, causes the drive-side clutch plate 6 and the driven-side clutch plates 7 to be in press contact with each other so as to achieve a state in which a drive force of an engine E is transmittable to a drive wheel W; a press-contract force amplifying mechanism 20 that generates a second press-contact force for amplifying the press-contact force between the drive-side clutch plate 6 and the driven-side clutch plates 7 along with an increase in the number of rotations of the engine E; and an assist cam mechanism 30 that generates a third press-contact force for amplifying the press-contact force between the drive-side clutch plate 6 and the driven-side clutch plates 7 when the clutch member 4 rotates relative to the pressure member 5.
