Abstract:
[PROBLEMS] A power transmission device in which one cam surface and the other
cam surface of a cam for assisting pressure contact or of a back torque limiter
cam are formed on peripheral edges of a clutch member and a pressure member, respectively.
In forming the cam surfaces, aimed cam characteristics are reliably obtained
even if the widths of the cam surfaces are set greater or they are used for a long
period. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] The power transmission device has a clutch
housing (2), driving clutch plates (6), driven clutch plates (7) capable of being
pressed to or separated from the driving clutch plates (6), a substantially circular
hollow cylindrical clutch member (4), a pressure member (5), and the cam for assisting
pressure contact or the back torque limiter cam. One cam surface (11a, 11b) and
the other cam surface (12a, 12b) that form the pressure-contact assisting cam
or the back torque limiter cam are formed on separate members (11, 12) made from
a hard material such as steel or titan.
