Abstract:
A power steering device 100 comprises: a steering shaft 2 rotated by steering torque inputted from a steering wheel 1; an electric motor 30 for applying rotational torque to the steering shaft 2, the rotational torque assisting the steering torque; and a speed reduction section 40 for reducing the speed of the electric motor 30 and transmitting the reduced speed to the steering shaft 2. The steering shaft 2 has: a serration section 14 to which either a pinion gear 21 or a pitman arm 25 is selectively joined through serrations; and a tapered section 21 in contact with the pinion gear 21 to radially position the pinion gear 21.
