Abstract:
This position sensor comprises: a power source terminal (113); a ground terminal (114); an output terminal (115); a detection unit (122) that detects a position; and a signal processing unit (123) that processes a signal input from the detection unit. The detection unit includes: a first detection element (124) that outputs a first detection signal; and a second detection element (125). The signal processing unit includes: a first processing unit (129); a second processing unit (130); a malfunction determination unit (131) that determines whether a position specified by the first processing unit matches a position specified by the second processing unit; and an output circuit unit (132) that, if it is determined by the malfunction determination unit that the positions match, outputs to the output terminal a position signal corresponding to the matching position, and that, if it is determined by the malfunction determination unit that the positions do not match, outputs to the output terminal a malfunction signal corresponding to a malfunction.
