Abstract:
Provided is a highly uniform polyvinyl alcohol-based film in which irregularity in the phase difference has been reduced at a high level. The polyvinyl alcohol-based film, when used for a polarization film, makes it possible to obtain a polarization film having little optical irregularity. The polyvinyl alcohol-based film is configured such that the difference between the maximum value and the minimum value of the in-plane phase difference in the transverse direction (TD) of the film is 25 nm or less, and the differential standard deviation of the in-plane phase difference in the transverse direction (TD) of the film is 0.8 nm or less.
