Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to the technical field of separators for electrochemical devices, and discloses a polyolefin porous membrane and a preparation method therefor, a battery separator and an electrochemical device. The polyolefin porous membrane of the present disclosure has a network fiber structure. Upon observing a 20,000-fold SEM image of the polyolefin porous membrane, the polyolefin porous membrane has the following characteristics: (1) in a circle having a radius of 1,000 nm, a fiber orientation result R_MD of fibers having a fiber diameter of greater than 15 nm in an MD direction satisfies (R_MD)2<0.8; and (2) in a circle having a radius of 1,000 nm, a fiber orientation result R_TD of fibers having a fiber diameter of greater than 15 nm in a TD direction satisfies (R_TD)2<0.8. Therefore, the polyolefin porous membrane of the present disclosure can achieve the mechanical property consistency of a separator in a battery, thereby increasing the stability of the separator in battery production and the safety of battery use.
